Late 1990s
Limited Too, a store that provides European fashions for a wide variety of ages from infants to young girls, begins to move toward fun, colorful, and interactive experiences designed to cater to a new audience: tween girls, ages 7-14. Hip fashions (and a fresh logo) delight girls who flock to the stores, which quickly become the fashion destination for this demographic.

Limited Too spins off from The Limited, Inc., marking the official launch of Too, Inc. The company introduces a “catazine” (catalog/magazine) to further excite tween girls, and then provides 24/7 access to the hottest fashions, thanks to online shopping.

Growth and prosperity continue. The company celebrates 500 stores in 2002 and opens sourcing offices in Hong Kong and Korea.

The company unveils a new concept that changes its history: Justice, a value-priced brand featuring fashions for tween girls at more affordable pricing.

Too, Inc. is changed to Tween Brands, Inc., and the first Justice catazine is produced.

In a historic move, Limited Too and Justice become one brand with a single vision and an even stronger focus on “our girl”—the tween girl.

Tween Brands becomes part of a powerful entity by merging with the Ascena Retail Group, Inc., joining sister brands dressbarn and maurices, and in 2012, Lane Bryant and Catherines. Today, the Ascena Retail Group, Inc. is a leading national specialty retailer of apparel for women and tween girls, offering fashion at a great value.

Justice continues to be at the forefront of tween apparel, offering the hottest fashions for tween girls at a great value.
