Finance

The associates in our finance department are essential in driving our business. Their responsibilities include creating budgets, determining markdowns, adjusting store payroll, controlling corporate expenses, and overseeing the expansion of our locations. These associates work closely with all departments and, most importantly, they pride themselves on being good partners to our business leaders.

Merchandise Planning and Allocation

Our merchandise planning team is always looking at fashion trends as they strive to correctly plan our inventory. Their responsibilities also include creating sales plans, recommending markdowns, executing price changes, providing standardized schedules, and even testing products.

Put simply, the merchandise allocation team is in charge of getting our merchandise to the right stores at the right time and in the right quantity. They make inventory recommendations and distribute inventory to stores based on performance and needs. They also review assortments, help determine how merchandise is presented and make sure that allocation strategies support financial goals.

Real Estate and Store Design

Our real estate and store design department is engaged throughout the entire process of bringing a store to market. As our associates will tell you, it’s an exciting team to be a part of.

Members of our real estate team find new Justice properties, negotiate lease terms, navigate the approval process, and partner with our store design team. The store design team designs new spaces and remodels current ones.

CRM, Marketing Insights, and Analytics

This team is broken out into several groups that work closely together. These associates tend to be inquisitive and insightful, always with an eye on the big picture.

The CRM group determines which consumers are most likely to make transactions, and then they ensure that our postcards and catazines are sent specifically to that target audience.

Our marketing insights group constantly studies our tween girl and her mom, conducting surveys and focus groups to learn about mom’s likes and dislikes in products, promotions, and prices. They also closely monitor our competitors, as well as clothing and marketing trends in the specialty market.

Our analytics group analyzes and reports on our marketing initiatives by conducting promotional, discount, and loyalty tests. They ask and answer questions like, “How is our marketing driving sales?”

Our HR team’s responsibilities run the gamut, as they work with associates both in the home office and in the field. This includes recruiting and onboarding, training programs, new leader development, associate relations, strategic development, organizational development, corporate communications, and associate events—not to mention everything related to company culture and philanthropy.
